Artist statement

Hanna Alvgren is a multimedia artist mainly working with digital collage, video and animation made for spatial installations. Her work attempts to create alternative modes of experiencing and perceiving our surrounding environment, psychologically and spatially. Her process often starts with photography and video recording to collect images of environments and scenes from everyday life which she deconstructs and reconstructs through computer enhanced collages and video animation. The result is often a blurred distinction between the mediums used to point towards questions of how perception, knowledge and memory are constructed.
Alvgren’s work has been exhibited in Seoul, South Korea, Kyoto, Japan and New York, United States.
