Desert Roaming - Interactive Video Installation

Through a video tracking system, people passing and walking in front of the panoramic installation trigger figures to walk through this desert landscape.Depending on where and how fast a person is moving in front of the Installation the programmed system will output corresponding behavior in the people walking the desert through parameters such as frame (location) and rate (speed). Installed in a bustling public space/square, the purpose is to peel away information in order to create a kind of pause and slowing down. In a time where technology and media is accelerating toward a hyper active and hyper mentality culture this piece tries to create a counter weight.
